Alabama football extended an impressive NFL Draft streak Thursday when the Dallas Cowboys selected Tyler Booker as the No. 12 overall pick.
The Cowboys’ selection extended the Tide’s streak of having consecutive drafts with a player being selected in the first round to 17.
This record dates back to 2009 when former Alabama offensive lineman, Andre Smith, was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals with the sixth overall pick. The Crimson Tide actively stand at the top over the last 17 years in this department with the Ohio State Buckeyes being the only program coming close with 10 consecutive drafts.
Alabama linebacker, Jihaad Campbell was also selected Thursday in the first round. The Philadelphia Eagles took him with the No. 31 overall pick.
These selections now mark the first Alabama prospects to be drafted in the Kalen DeBoer era.
