What Nick Saban said about Tyler Booker when he was drafted

The Dallas Cowboys selected Alabama offensive lineman Tyler Booker with the No. 12 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft on Thursday night. Soon after, former Alabama head coach Nick Saban provided his initial thoughts.

”This guy is a fantastic young man. He’s smart and you talk about a good leader, very physical, very tough, gets movement in the run — that’s why people like him so much. This guy has got tremendous muscle mass which I think is very important to being a power player in the NFL.”

Booker played for Saban his freshman and sophomore year at Alabama.

He started in 26 of the 38 games that he played in over the course of his college career. As a junior, Booker was named a First-Team All-American by CBS Sports and USA Today.

Booker will help alleviate some of the pressure on the Cowboys to find Zack Martin’s replacement. The organization is hopeful that Booker can come in and be an immediate impact player. That is the expectation and Booker will look to prove that he is capable of doing so over the course of his NFL career.
