The Seattle Seahawks are already envisioning how they plan to infuse Jalen Milroe into their offense this upcoming season after selecting him with the 92nd overall pick in the 3rd round of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Milroe packs his bags for Seattle after starting two seasons at Alabama and proving to be one of the most dynamic players in all of college football. In this time, Milroe completed 65 percent of his passes for 5,678 yards and 39 touchdowns while racking up 1,257 rushing yards and 33 additional scores on the ground.
This production is why newly hired Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald and offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak are already looking forward to incorporating Milroe within the Seattle offense in 2025.
“One of the reasons we hired Klint (Kubiak) was his ability to incorporate the whole roster and really bring out what everybody does really well,” Macdonald said. “So adding Jalen (Milroe) is a part of that. And the ability to kind of employ everyone and bring the best out of all the players is really exciting, so that’s how it fits. We’re going to be running Klint’s offense, and Jalen’s going to fit right in. And when he’s in there, we’re going to be doing the stuff that he does great, just like we will when Sam’s (Darnold) leading the charge. So, yeah, it’s going to be a lot of fun.”
These words come after Seattle signed veteran quarterback, Sam Darnold, to a three-year deal worth $100.5 million dollars earlier this offseason before selecting Milroe Friday night. This brought on much speculation that the Alabama quarterback could potentially be used in a Taysom Hill-like role.
Macdonald shined some light on this as well.
“Jalen’s a quarterback through and through,” Macdonald said. “He’s going to be trained to play quarterback for us, and when he’s in there, he’s going to be playing quarterback. But the athleticism is going to come to life when he’s on the field, and that’s how he’s going to help us.”
