5 prospects in the state of Alabama to know

High school spring football is underway inside the state of Alabama, and Touchdown Alabama is on the road checking out some of the state’s emerging and established talent.

I was able to put eyes on a group of players I think more people should know about. Here is a look at those prospects:

Nic Hendrix – 2027 OL – Spain Park High School

Hendrix is a 6-foot-2, 255-pound offensive lineman for the Spain Park Jaguars. He started at right guard last season and helped led his team to their first 12-0 start in school history. Hendrix is a strong in-line blocker, who has a mean punch in the run game. He knows how to finish blocks as he continues to drive through defenders until the whistle is blown. The sophomore is also effective at blocking in space as he can effectively pull and pave the way for ball carriers. He was recently selected to be at the Memphis MEGA Camp this summer.

Eric Kerley Jr. – 2026 LB – Spain Park High School

Kerley Jr. is one of the toughest linebackers you will see in the state of Alabama. If he was a couple of inches taller, his offer list would undoubtedly be much longer. At 5-foot-11 and 215 pounds, Kerley Jr. is a tackling machine. He is now the single-season tackling leader in Spain Park school history. He set the record last season with 146. It is easy to see why he was able to with his ability to diagnose plays and take great angles in pursuit of the football. He is a solid player, who serves as the quarterback of the Jaguars’ defense. He has early offers from UAB and Kennesaw State.

Noah Hicks – 2026 DB – Moody High School

Hicks began his sophomore season at Thompson High School before transferring to Moody and having a breakout junior campaign. He started all 15 games for the Blue Devils en route to a state championship appearance. Hicks is a long defensive back at 6-foot-1 and 175 pounds. He is among the fastest prospects on his team, which allows him to go stride to stride with defenders. His length aids him in coverage giving him the ability to have a wide coverage radius. Hicks has an early offer from Eastern Kentucky and recently visited Troy University.

Gordon Denniston – 2027 OL – St. Paul’s Epispocal

One of the most underrated offensive linemen resides in Mobile, Alabama. Denniston is a 6-foot-4, 270-pounder, who is as powerful as they come. He is very dominant in the run game, moving defenders around, sealing them off and creating wide holes in the run game. Denniston is even better in pass protection, maintaining a clean pocket.

Keith Turner – 2027 WR – Saraland High School

Turner is a speedster at 5-foot-11 and 160 pounds. His smooth route-running ability combined with soft hands make him a very versatile receiver at Y, Z or SLOT. This upcoming season, Turner looks to be a focal point in the passing game. He recently visited Southern Miss and the University of Florida.
