Over the weekend, former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the NFL Draft. Soon after, Milroe made a heartwarming statement regarding his parents.
“I want to calculate all the miles, all the money my parents spent in college. I’m going to give it back.”
Milroe’s parents attended the vast majority of his games throughout his college career. Despite living in Texas, his parents prioritized attending their son’s games week-in and week-out. The distance did not matter to them. They simply wanted to be there to support their son every step of the way, and that is exactly what they did.
The average rookie contract for a third-round draft pick is between $979,000 and $1.2-million annually according to Pro Football & Sports Network.
Milroe will sign a rookie contract with the Seahawks in the coming days or weeks. His act of generosity and appreciation is something that certainly stands out about the former signal-caller’s character. Milroe was a team captain for the Crimson Tide during the 2024 season, and this is a great example of why that came to be.
