A report turned heads of Alabama nation just before the NFL Draft began last week which quoted and anonymous AFC coordinator who stated that all the skill players for the Crimson Tide would have transferred if quarterback Jalen Milroe returned to the team.

Despite being reported by NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, it wasn’t enough to convince Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer that it would have played out that way.

DeBoer gave his thoughts during an appearance on KJR Seattle earlier this week on the anonymous report.

“The word ‘all’ was used,” DeBoer said. “Whenever absolutes are used like that, I kind of question it right there, the words ‘never’ and ‘always’ and ‘all.’ I think that’s a little far-fetched. I don’t think we would have lost all of our receivers for anything. I will also say that there were guys who left. We had six receivers transfer our, just on this last year’s team already.

“There’s reasons for that. Who you’re hearing that from and what’s happening, I don’t know. That’s really not a concern of mine. I know that Jalen is a guy that really works hard to unite people.”

Milroe, whose final season at Alabama had extreme peaks and valleys throughout the season was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round.
