Former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe provided some great perspective in an interview with NFL Network for how he plans on earning respect from his Seattle Seahawks teammates.
“I’m a student of the game and I’ve got to earn the trust and respect of everyone in the locker room. Meeting extra with the coaching staff, getting around the guys in the room, learning, growing, because no matter what work I have, I’ve got to be the best quarterback I can be. These guys have had reps in the NFL, competed at a high level, so as a young guy, all I want to do is pay respect to the veterans.”
Milroe was drafted in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft by the Seahawks. He was the fourth quarterback off the board last week.
Milroe put together two strong seasons in Tuscaloosa. The Texas native passed for over 7,000 yards and 78 touchdowns. In addition, Milroe rushed for 1,577 yards and 33 touchdowns.
The Seahawks have several different directions that they can go at the quarterback position. The roster features three quarterbacks — Sam Darnold, Drew Lock, and Milroe.
Milroe should have an opportunity to compete for playing time and learn behind two veteran quarterbacks. Both of which should bode well for the former Alabama signal-caller.
