Xavier Griffin has announced a verbal commitment to Alabama over Florida State, Ohio State and Texas.
Griffin is the Crimson Tide’s 14th 2026 commit. He currently garners a five-star rating from multiple recruiting sites, and he becomes Alabama’s third five-star commit in the 2026 class.
Griffin is a 6-foot-4 edge with a quick twitch, who can play sideline to sideline. The Alabama native is the true definition of a versatile linebacker prospect with his blend of size and athleticism to go along with his ability to make plays from the edge and off the ball. He feels his ability to get off blocks and close space are strengths of his game.
The new Alabama commit finished his junior season with 50 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and six sacks in seven games.
