Alabama football lost to Florida State in Tallhassee on Saturday.
Here are our initial takeaways:
– Alabama football has trust issues at kicker. Conor Talty will have to earn more trust as season progresses. The Tide opted to go for it several times when they were considered to be in range for a field goal.
– Ty Simpson can be a good quarterback, but he will have to grow up a lot early in the season. His inexperienced showed in this one at some critical moments
– Disciplined issues in terms of late hits and unnecessary roughness peak their heads out at times. It hurt Alabama today. Those will always be costly as the season progresses.
– Alabama football’s defense has multiple weaknesses. The Tide’s backend and its edge do not play with great disciplined. They have a problem generating pressure and do not tackle well.
– Alabama football misses Jam Miller in the backfield. It appears to not have a lot of confidence in the back behind Miller and opted to split carries between four backs.
