In his first game as Alabama football’s starting quarterback, Ty Simpson showcased his running ability on the opening drive, scrambling to keep the chains moving, but he finished the game with only 17 rushing yards on nine attempts.

There were a few plays where Simpson had no choice but to scramble because the pocket collapsed, but there were a couple of times Simpson could have hung in there longer and found a receiver.

Kalen DeBoer believes there were a few times he could have avoided scrambling if he had trusted himself and thrown the football.
