ESPN’s Rece Davis shocks with where he has Alabama in AP Poll after losing to FSU

Rece Davis, College GameDay Host and Pat McAfee, College Football Analyst pause watching a segment about Ella Bresee during ESPN College GameDay Built by The Home Depot on Bowman Field at Clemson University in Clemson Saturday, October 1, 2022.

During the broadcast of Monday’s TCU-North Carolina game, College Gameday host and play-by-play commentator Rece Davis reviewed the results of the top 10 teams in the AP Poll, and he dropped the hammer on Alabama after an abysmal 31-17 loss to Florida State

“Alabama has been in every poll and the last time they weren’t in the poll was 2007,” Davis said. “I didn’t rank them this week. No. 8 to out.”

Alongside Davis in the booth was Kirk Herbstreit, College Gameday analyst and color commentator, and he was in agreement with Davis.

“I think that’s fair,” Kirk Herbstreit said. “I don’t think they should be ranked after that performance.”

If Alabama is unranked in the next AP poll, it’ll end the second-longest AP-ranked streak in history at 279 consecutive polls. This streak began at the beginning of the 2008 season.
