Kalen DeBoer provided the latest update on Jah-Marien Latham during the SEC Coaches Teleconference after the veteran defender suffered a neck injury on Tuesday.
“He is at UAB, continue to get evaluated, probably no more here in the next 48 hours, but most importantly, he’s got motion feeling, just text with him this morning,” DeBoer said. “He told me to tell the guys he’s doing well. So. just more tests, more things we got to evaluate.”
Yea Alabama released a statement from DeBoer Tuesday after Latham went down with the injury.
“During today’s practice session, Jah-Marien Latham sustained a neck injury,” DeBoer’s statement read. “He was transported to UAB St. Vincent’s Hospital for further evaluation and care. We are pleased to report that Jah has full feeling and motion, and he is currently undergoing a thorough medical assessment to determine the next steps in his recovery. Our top priority is Jah’s health and well-being. We are in close contact with his family and the medical team and will continue to support him in every way possible. Further updates will be provided as appropriate.”
The severity of Latham’s injury is unconfirmed at the moment.
