Alabama has generally had its way against Kirby Smart since the former Crimson Tide defensive coordinator left to coach the Bulldogs in 2016. Over that span, Alabama and Georgia have met seven times, with the Tide posting a 6-1 record.
Despite Alabama’s dominance, Smart’s Georgia teams have generally kept things close, coming within one score in four of its their defeats. That included last year’s 41-34 classic, when Alabama needed a late interception from Zabien Brown to put the clamps on a Georgia comeback.
Before No. 17 Alabama takes on No. 5 Georgia on Saturday, here’s a closer look at how the Tide has fared against Smart’s Bulldogs teams with seven key figures from the past seven matchups.
