Alabama football is unsure if it will have its starting running back, Jam Miller, when the Crimson Tide go up against Tennessee this weekend.
Miller went down with a concussion against Missouri in the Tide’s win over the Tigers. He walked off the field with assistance from the Tide’s medical staff as he made his way to the locker room. Alabama listed Miller as questionable in its initial availability report for its game against Tennessee.
Kalen DeBoer offered some more insight into Miller’s status Wednesday on “Hey Coach and the Kalen DeBoer Show.”
“Jam’s continued to move along here throughout the week,” DeBoer said. “Everyone knows it is the protocol, and you got to meet those certain steps along the way throughout the week. That’s completely in the hands of our medical staff who do a great job. And so, you know, Jam’s making good progress. We’re not sure yet where that stands, but we’re going to think optimistically but also their steps again. It can go a lot of different directions. I’ve seen it happen different ways as the week goes on. But they’re out there doing what they can do, and with regard to where they’re at. We’ll see as the week goes on here.”
Miller has rushed for 267 yards and one touchdown in three games this season. He missed the Tide’s first three games of the season with a shoulder injury.
