‘Crazy’ Alabama staff to keep adding creative offensive plays

Alabama football’s offense is set to continue to expand its repertoire of creative plays.

The Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb has put his spin on the Alabama football offense this season. From Kadyn Proctor taking snaps at skill positions to Germie Bernard being used in a variety of ways, this Alabama offense is fresh and innovative.

Alabama’s head football coach Kalen DeBoer confirmed the innovative plays will continue to be added in after the Tide defeated South Carolina.

“It keeps building because our staff is crazy sometimes,” DeBoer said. “They just every week are adding to it. And what I like to see is I like to see us work on plays and a lot of times they don’t get called that week, but you start banking reps of each concept or each play. As you become more and more comfortable, the right opportunity pops up, it’s on the call sheet and you let it fly. And so again, I want our guys not flinching when those types of things come up. Let’s just go do what we do. And again, you put it in the guy’s hands that you trust, and you put the pressure on the other team by doing that.”

Alabama pulled out several head-turning plays in its win over South Carolina.
