Alabama football’s linebacker commit, Zay Hall is ready to stay home and start his college football career with the Crimson Tide.

Hall is a product of the Tuscaloosa, Alabama area, and he currently garners a three-star rating from multiple recruiting sites. The senior is set to sign with the Tide in December and enroll early at the University of Alabama.

Alabama’s inside linebackers have been one of the strengths of the Tide’s defense this season. Hall has watched Alabama in action multiple times in person, and he has been encouraged by the way Kane Wommack uses Deontae Lawson, Justin Jefferson and Nikhai Hill-Green.

“I feel like it’s great,” Hall said. “It shows versatility, athleticism. The whole defense been playing great the whole season, improving each game and seeing how dominant we can be at each spot on the field, especially the linebacker group. The linebackers, we got to do everything. We force turnovers, set the defense line, make sure the back end straight. We gotta know everything that’s going on around us.”

At 6-foot-2 and approximately 230 pounds, Hall displays the ability to diagnose plays early in their development from the linebacker position. He excels at sifting through traffic and seeking out ball carriers with the ability to play sideline to sideline.

“I think I could play all three spots our linebackers rotate at,” Hall told Touchdown Alabama. “Sometimes they stand or sometimes they to the boundary. to the field in the middle or they just roaming in between like the d-line and the linebacker. I feel like I see myself in all the positions.”
