Alabama football’s wide receiver coach JaMarcus Shephard has been named a finalist for the Oregon State head coach opening, according to Oregon State Beavers beat writer for The Oregonian Ryan Clarke.

Clarke also reports Montana State’s head football coach Brent Vigen is a fellow finalist.

Shephard is in his second year with the Tide. His official role is the Tide’s assistant head coach, co-offensive coordinator and wide receiver coach.

The veteran assistant coach followed Kalen DeBoer to Alabama after working under him at Washington.

DeBoer, Ryan Grubb, Kane Wommack and now Shephard have all had their names linked to job openings as a crazy coaching carousel continues to turn.

All coaches remained members of the Alabama coaching staff at the moment as the Tide prepares to take on Auburn in the Iron Bowl.
