Moody dominates trenches to defeat Vigor in 5A State Championship

Moody defeated Vigor 25-0 Thursday in the Class 5A State Championship by dominating the trenches on both sides of the football.

The win gave the Blue Devils their first-ever football state championship. Le’Kamren Meadows led a dominant Moody rushing attack against the Wolves by accounting for 186 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns in the win. Kevin James also added 97 yards on 22 carries.

Vigor was limited to 171 total yards in the game.

The Blue Devils had some standouts on defense in this one as well, with Ba’Roc Willis finishing the game with five total tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack. Camron Mallory added 0.5 tackle for loss and a half sack. Marshall Teofilo tied with Willis to lead the Blue Devils in tackles.
