It’s Dec. 10, Alabama fans. Do you know where your quarterback is? At this rate, Ty Simpson’s face is going to start showing up on milk cartons in Tuscaloosa. That is, the “Old Ty,” who has seemingly gone missing from the Crimson Tide’s offense since leading Alabama to four straight ranked wins earlier this season.
After struggling in his first career start during the season opener, Simpson posted six straight games with a passer rating of 140 or higher. The redshirt junior completed 74.3% of his passes for 1,677 yards and 16 touchdowns with just one interception over that span, vaulting him into a spot as the Heisman Trophy frontrunner at the time.
Seven weeks later, that seems like a fever dream.
