An Alabama coach is indeed set to take a job in the state of Michigan, but it does not involve Kalen DeBoer nor the Wolverines.
Just a couple hours removed from the Alabama Crimson Tide’s victory over Oklahoma, multiple reports have stated that Michigan State is set to hire Alabama co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Nick Sheridan as the Spartans’ new offensive coordinator.
Sheridan was the Crimson Tide’s playcaller in 2024 before Ryan Grubb returned to Tuscaloosa for the 2025 season. Under Sheridan, Alabama’s offense averaged 33.8 PPG in 2024.
Sheridan played quarterback at Michigan from 2006-2009, and he’s joining the coaching staff of the Wolverines’ rival.
