Alabama football’s backup center, Joseph Ionata is expected to enter the transfer portal, per multiple reports.
Ionata signed with Alabama as a member of the 2024 recruiting class. He played two seasons with the Crimson Tide before deciding to enter the portal. The redshirt freshman was listed as Alabama’s backup center during the 2025 season.
The Florida native finished his time at Alabama with close to 15 games of experience as a contributor on special teams for the most part.
