Caleb Woodson shared he was on the campus of the University of Alabama visiting the Crimson Tide on Monday evening.

Woodson is a former Virginia Tech linebacker. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker fits into the potential immediate contributor category for the Tide, with Alabama set to lose three veteran linebackers. Justin Jefferson, Deontae Lawson and Nikhai Hill-Green are set to move on to the NFL.

The former Virginia Tech linebacker racked up 152 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss and two sacks during three seasons with the Hokies. He showed the ability to be a sideline-to-sideline linebacker at Virginia Tech. He took great angles to the football and displayed a great feel for sifting through traffic in search of ball carriers, along with some impressive closing speed.

Adding Woodson to Kane Wommack’s defense would definitely be a step in the right direction for the Tide.
