Alabama football’s redshirt sophomore quarterback Austin Mack has agreed to a deal to re-sign with the Tide in 2026, according to Yea Alabama.

Mack transferred to Alabama from Washington after Kalen DeBoer became the Crimson Tide’s head coach. He has played under DeBoer for three seasons. He took snaps as the Tide’s primary backup in 2025, despite not being listed at the role on Alabama’s official depth chart.

The California native played in four games for the Tide this season. He finished the year with 228 passing yards and two touchdowns. Alabama turned to him when Ty Simpson went down with an injury in the Rose Bowl. He was able to complete 11 of his 16 pass attempts for 103 yards against Indiana.

Mack will battle it out with Keelon Russell, Jett Thomalla and Tayden Kaawa to be the Tide’s next starting quarterback.
