Joakim Gouda is looking forward to returning to Alabama in the spring after visiting the Crimson Tide for Junior Day on Saturday.
Gouda attends South Paulding High School in Douglasville, Georgia. He holds recent offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee and others.
The Crimson Tide was among the programs to offer Gouda in January. Alabama’s inside linebackers coach Chuck Morrell visited the Georgia product a few days after the Tide offered him. Gouda returned the favor Saturday by visiting Alabama on Junior Day.
Alabama’s ‘strength and conditioning’ and its ‘physical therapy care’ really stood out to Gouda during his time on campus. Alabama’s staff also sent a clear message to him.
“If you want play for championships, this is the place for you,” Gouda said when asked what the Tide’s message was to him during the visit.
The junior plans to return to Alabama in the spring. He previously expressed his respect for Alabama as a program.
“It means a lot, especially how historic their program is,” Gouda told Touchdown Alabama when asked what earning an Alabama offer means to him. “They are a great program and every year they compete for championships and put guys in the league.”
Alabama is recruiting the 6-foot-3, 225-pounder to be an inside linebacker. He shines there for South Paulding as a physical linebacker. He is great at making tackles in space with a great feel for taking angles to ball carriers.
