Auburn had success under Gus Malzahn – including two Southeastern Conference Championships (one as an assistant coach), a BCS National Championship in 2010 (assistant coach), a Heisman Trophy winner (Cam Newton, in 2010), and two 10-win seasons – however, it finally has its first real deal football coach since Tommy Tubberville.
