Ty Simpson was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams as the No. 13 overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Simpson spent four seasons at the University of Alabama after signing with the Crimson Tide as a five-star recruit. He started at quarterback for the Tide during the 2025 season. The Tennessee product threw for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns in his only year as a starter.

The Rams’ decision to draft Simpson makes him the fifth quarterback in Alabama football history to get drafted in the first round. He was the second quarterback taken in the 2026 NFL Draft after Fernando Mendoza went No. 1 overall to the Oakland Raiders.

The former five-star is now expected to be the quarterback of the future in Los Angeles while playing behind reigning NFL MVP Mathew Stafford.
