Ty Simpson is expected to sign a 4-year deal for $25.41 million with a 5th-year option after being drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, per Spotrac.

Simpson was drafted by the Rams as the No. 13 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. He was the second Alabama player taken in the draft and the second quarterback selected on Thursday night.

Simpson’s signing bonus is projected to be $14.94 million and around $40 million of his rookie contract will be in guaranteed money. The first year of his contract should pay him approximately $4 million.

The former Alabama quarterback’s decision to declare for the NFL Draft and not transfer for a reported $6 million looks to be a really smart one.

Simpson spent four seasons at the University of Alabama after signing with the Crimson Tide as a five-star recruit. He started at quarterback for the Tide during the 2025 season. The Tennessee product threw for 3,567 yards and 28 touchdowns in his only year as a starter.
