Alabama football 6-foot-7 TE commit confirms he remains locked in with Tide

Colt Lumpris told Touchdown Alabama his commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide remains firm as other teams continue to push for him.

“We are still locked in,” Lumpris said.

Lumpris attends The Lawrenceville School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. He currently garners a four-star rating from most recruiting sites as a highly sought-after prospect. Michigan, Penn State and Texas A&M remain in the hunt for the Alabama pledge alongside the Tide.

Each school will host the four-star for an official visit this summer, including Alabama.

Lumpris committed to Alabama in December before Richard Owens became the Tide’s tight-end coach. Owens was quick to confirm to Lumpris he was still a priority for the Tide when he was hired.

“His message was that I’m a huge priority still for them,” Lumpris said. “They think I’m a great player all around. I think he’s a good guy.

At 6-foot-7 and 235 pounds, Lumpris is an obvious mismatch when he lines up out wide with his length. Some of the most impressive parts of his game at this point, is his ability to catch the football as a big target and work after the catch while getting up the field.

The Alabama commit pulled in 44 receptions for 812 yards and eight touchdowns as a junior.
