Alabama adds shutdown 4-Star cornerback to 2027 recruiting board

Blake Jenkins reported an offer from Alabama after a visit from the Crimson Tide’s defensive back coach, Maurice Linguist.

Jenkins attends Tompkins High School in Katy, Texas, which is the same high school former Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe attended. He is currently listed as a four-star recruit on most recruiting sites. His offer list includes offers from Houston, Michigan, SMU, Texas, Vanderbilt and others. He has official visits locked in with each of the programs aforementioned.

At 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, Jenkins reports the ability to run a 4.48 40-yard dash. This speed translates over to the football field, and it aids him as a shutdown cornerback. He can turn and run and go stride for stride with wide receivers in coverage with his speed. He also tends to make a play on the football when it comes his way. Jenkins is also a willing tackler.

Alabama does not hold a commitment from a 2027 defensive back, but the Tide is recruiting several. The Tide will likely have to work to make up a lot of ground to become a factor for Jenkins.
