Kenneth Simon has announced a verbal commitment to Alabama football.
Simon attends Brentwood Academy in Tennessee, and he is a member of the 2027 recruiting class. His commitment gives Alabama seven 2027 commits and one 2027 linebacker pledge.
At 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, the rising senior is a linebacker who can play sideline-to-sideline with the ability to make tackles in space effectively. He flashes the potential to make plays as an off-the-ball linebacker and as an edge rusher. While getting after the passer may not be his primary role at the college football level, if he can translate his ability to pass rush effectively to the next level, he will have an opportunity to stay on the field more.
The Tide could use Simon in a variety of ways in the future. He fits the mold of an off-the-ball linebacker, and he will likely spend the majority of his time as an inside linebacker for Alabama. He could also be called upon to rush from the edge at times and get after the quarterback.
