Alabama football restructured its offensive line from top to bottom after the 2025 football season.
The Crimson Tide hired Adrian Klemm to be its new offensive line coach after splitting away from Chris Kapilovic. Five offensive linemen with starting experience departed from Alabama after the 2025 season, and the Tide added six offensive linemen via the transfer portal.
DeBoer gave an update on how the Tide’s offensive line rebuild is going while talking to Greg McElroy on “Always College Football.”
“I think coach Klemm’s done a great job of developing a mindset,” DeBoer said. “I think he’s a great teacher, and these guys recognize that. They take what he says, and they apply it. They believe in it. And then again, collectively, they can see each other working extremely hard, making some sacrifices.”
DeBoer feels the Tide’s offensive line has some things to feel good about after the spring. One of those things is the number of snaps under the belt of some new additions.
“Javin James… started a couple seasons now and the last one in the SEC,” said DeBoer. “So just guys like that, a lot of snap counts. Racin (Delgatty), he’s logged a lot of snap counts as a center. He came from Cal Poly and so again, different level of football. But with him coming in here and doing what he does, you can see the intelligence factor. You can see him technically do a good job. There is a learning curve. Again, physicality every single play is on another level. But he’s adjusting well and, again, needs a great summer, needs a great fall camp. But there’s a lot of things that we feel really good about. I could go on and on with some other transfers that have come in. We’re excited about Will Sanders, who’s homegrown here. really expecting some things coming off of just some rehab and some injury stuff that he’s had here this spring, being more of an interior guard spot. So, again, it’s a work in progress.”
The Tide’s offensive line is looking to shake back from a year where it struggled to run the football and protect Ty Simpson at quarterback.
