Nigel Newkirk has announced a verbal commitment to Alabama football. He picked the Tide over LSU, Ohio State and others.
Newkirk is a 2027 four-star running back out of Gainesville High School in Georgia, and he currently garners a four-star rating from most recruiting sites. His commitment gives the Tide four 2027 offensive commits and their first running back pledge.
At 5-foot-11 and 200 pounds, Newkirk is an explosive running back, and he impacts the game in many ways for Gainesville. He is a weapon while carrying the football out of backfield and in the passing game. The new Alabama pledge has also shown he can catch the football out of the backfield.
