In-state 2027 offensive lineman eyeing commitment date as Alabama football makes late push

Stafford Willis is looking to possibly announce a commitment this month with programs like South Carolina, Alabama, UCLA, Virginia and Virginia Tech in the mix.

Willis is a 2027 offensive lineman prospect, and he attends Arab High School in Alabama. Most recruiting sites consider him to be a three-star recruit. He is considering announcing a commitment decision in less than two weeks.

“I think I’m gonna commit June 23rd,” Willis said.

Alabama is making what could be considered a late push for Willis after offering him earlier this week. It was an offer Willis was grateful to earn.

“It is an incredible offer,” Willis said. “I kind of grew up a little, not a huge Alabama fan. It wasn’t crazy, but they were my team. That’s super cool that they offer me, and it’s definitely an incredible opportunity. I like what they’re about.”

Adrian Klemm, the Tide’s offensive line coach, will continue to lead Alabama’s push for Willis. The two are continuing to build their relationship.

“I’m still kind of getting to know some people because they got in the game a little bit later,” Willis told Touchdown Alabama. “I really like coach Klemm. He came to the school, and then I went on a visit there in the spring for practice, and he came to the school. Then we’ve been on phone calls and texting. Our relationship is really growing.”

Alabama will host Willis for an official visit next weekend. The other teams involved in the mix for Willis have already hosted Willis.

“Definitely getting around the team culture, just seeing how they operate,” said Willis when asked what he is looking forward to doing on his official visit to Alabama. “I’ve been to two practices, so seeing that was great, but seeing how the coaches interact and players interact outside of the football field is definitely important to me. Just continuing to build a relationship with coaches and players.”

At 6-foot-5 and 290 pounds, Willis is a physical offensive lineman who displays the ability to properly execute a variety of blocking assignments. One can see him executing effective combo blocks and continuing to find work at the second level of defenses throughout his film. Stafford also flashes some agility along with some impressive strength.
