Alabama football has picked up a verbal commitment from Kingston Preyear.
The 2028 recruit is a four-star prospect out of Benjamin Russell High School in Alabama. He garners a four-star rating from multiple recruiting sites and is considered to be one of the top quarterbacks in his class. His commitment gives the Tide two 2028 quarterback pledges with a previous commitment from Charles Scott.
Preyear’s decision to commit to Alabama came down to a trio of important factors.
“I definitely thought about how much they value me, relationships and development,” Preyear said. “Those are the three biggest things and a place I can call home and just grow as a man on the field and off the field and great academics.”
Development is crucial to the four-star.
“They had a development plan for me,” Preyear told Touchdown Alabama. “We stepped in the office, we asked questions, and they gave great answers, you know, and just a great development plan. I feel like they win a lot of games, so I feel like I can go there and I can help contribute to winning.”
At 6-foot-3, 195 pounds, Preyear can spin it and make a wide variety of throws. He possesses an effortless release of the football and displays great footwork in the pocket. As a multi-sport athlete, his athleticism allows him to use his feet and be a dual-threat signal-caller.
The new Alabama commit threw for 3,127 yards and 31 touchdowns as a sophomore for the Wildcats last season and added 564 rushing yards.
