Alabama safety excited to play in home state this fall

Alabama Crimson Tide safety Bray Hubbard is widely regarded as one of the top defensive backs in the nation entering 2026. 

Hubbard finds himself in one of the top secondaries in the country as well, as Alabama’s defensive backs are expected to play at an elite level throughout the entirety of the season. The star safety will find himself traveling back to his home state for a matchup against the Mississippi State Bulldogs during SEC play, as Hubbard was able to reveal his excitement prior to contest in October. 

“My brother actually went to Ole Miss,” Hubbard said. “My sister went to Mississippi State. So, I think my sister is actually going to be pulling for Alabama. My freshman year we were there. I think I was on some special teams. I don’t think I played any there, but I’ve been to many of those games before. It’s going to be an electric atmosphere, great program, great team. And, you know, I’m excited about it and going back to my home state.”

Hubbard recorded an SEC-leading four interceptions, 4.5 TFL and three forced fumbles during 2025. The veteran safety could quickly begin to shine in his home state against the Bulldogs, and Hubbard will undoubtedly play a critical role throughout the entire matchup.
