Alabama linebacker ‘kicking ass’ in fall camp after return from season-ending injury

Jah-Marien Latham saw his 2025 football season get cut short after a season-ending neck injury he suffered against Florida State in the first game of the year.

Latham is back in Tuscaloosa for his seventh season with the Tide, and he is making the most of his opportunity to be back in crimson and white, according to the Tide’s defensive coordinator Kane Wommack.

“Zeebo (Latham) from day one when I got here, I mean, just naturally there’s guys that become kind of some of your favorites,” Wommack said. “Whether you’re supposed to have favorites or not, I do. But he’s just been a guy that I just, I love his work ethic. He wants to be a coach one day. He operates that way. He’s got a great maturity. What’s amazing in the first three days is how quickly he’s adapted back to the fundamentals of football. You watch him in the six-technique drill, and he’s kicking ass right now. So awesome to have him back, and he has worked really, really hard to get himself back in position to do that.”

Latham had two tackles against the Seminoles before exiting the game. He signed with Alabama as a four-star recruit in the 2020 recruiting class, and the Alabama native has racked up 44 total tackles, four tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks during his time with the Tide.
