The Alabama Crimson Tide’s offensive line will feature a handful of new faces throughout the 2026 campaign.
The Tide find themselves with just one returning starter from last years’ offensive line in sophomore Michael Carroll. Alabama made a plethora of additions through the transfer portal, however, and the offensive line features a dynamic group of talent following a complete overhaul this offseason.
Alabama held their first official scrimmage of fall camp on Thursday afternoon, and head coach Kalen DeBoer was asked about the offensive line’s performance during the contest.
“I thought pass protection, this has been a really good week.” DeBoer said. “They are starting to understand their assignments, they are working together. The communication is there, run-game wise I feel like they have improved as well. There were some plays early that were really not there fault, it might look like it but it’s not. Today’s scrimmage, that’s just stuff we got to clean up again. Getting numbers right, things like that. It’s been a steady improvement, that’s what we expect and that’s what we got to have. I like the direction it’s going. It’s been for the most part with the ones, a consistency with who’s in the rotation, who’s getting snaps. And that’s really important, our two’s certainly got to find their rhythm.”
DeBoer has spoken highly in regard to the offensive line’s performance on numerous occasions throughout the early stages of fall camp. The offensive line as a whole appears to be progressing well considering the unfamiliarity between the players and coaching staff, and the unit will more than likely progress even further as chemistry continues to develop.
