Alabama football running back outlook with AK Dear sidelined with injury

Alabama football’s AK Dear is sidelined with an injury he suffered in the Crimson Tide’s first scrimmage of fall camp. He is now expected to miss some time but not the entire season, according to multiple reports.

Dear was one of the catalysts of the Crimson Tide’s big day on the ground early in fall camp, and Alabama’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb spoke highly of Dear’s maturity after the impressive practice.

“Maturity. And I mean that, I remember being right out here, fourth quarter with him, the things he thought were possible at that time compared to what he thinks is possible now is very different,” Grubb said. “I think he’s a great teammate, he’s a guy who can lighten the mood, spark guys a little bit. So that’s been something that has been really enjoyable. But also just being a better football player, AK understands that protection was one of the issues with getting on the field, and he’s come a long way.”
