Veteran Alabama wide receiver Ryan Coleman-Williams revealed the craziest throw he’s seen sophomore quarterback Keelon Russell make as a member of the Crimson Tide.

“I ain’t gonna lie, it might have been his freshman year,” Coleman-Williams said to reporters on Tuesday. “Like, they were going against the one defense, and it was to Lotzeir. We had this play, and Lottie ended up going like down the middle of the field. He [Keelon Russell] was rolling left, and the situation was like pretty much last play, fourth down. He rolled left, and it was right on the button. The defender was right there, and it went right over the defender’s head into Lottie’s hands. It’s crazy, but he does that all the time. That was probably the first time I was like, ‘Oh snap.'”

Russell’s arm talent is one of the most impressive parts of his game, and the ability to create with his legs while keeping his eyes down the field could separate him from the rest of the quarterbacks in the SEC.

Coleman-Williams said after A-Day that it “feels like playing a video game” when Russell is at quarterback, and based on what Coleman-Williams shared with the media on Tuesday, the wide receivers are excited to take the field with Russell under center.

Russell won the starting quarterback job over senior Austin Mack, and Russell will start his first collegiate game this Saturday against East Carolina.

Alabama hosts East Carolina on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT. The game will air on ABC.
