Saban denies he told Lane Kiffin to leave Ole Miss to go to LSU

Nick Saban denied he told Lane Kiffin or any other coach where to coach at during the start of ESPN’s College Gameday.

Kiffin left Ole Miss to be the head football coach at LSU after leading the Rebels to the College Football Playoff.

Ganeday is in Oxford ahead of the Rebels taking on  the Tigers on Saturday night, and Saban told the crowd in attendance he did not tell Kiffin to leave.

“Where do you think you can win? Where do you think you fit. And I also say, ‘Why can’t you win at where you are now? You have a great quarterback,” Saban said. “You have a great running back. You’re in the playoffs. You have a chance to win the national championship. So why do you have to go someplace else?’ So, but everybody makes their own decision. I don’t tell anybody where to go.”

Kiffin coached under Saban at Alabama as an offensive coordinator.
