Alabama DC highlights dangerous skill South Carolina QB LaNorris Sellers is displaying

Alabama football’s defensive coordinator Kane Wommack feels LaNorris Sellers is as dangerous as he has ever been running the football at the moment.

Sellers has picked up 172 rushing yards this season through three games. His best rushing performance of the season came against Towson when he rushed for 119 yards. The quarterback is coming off a game where he had 52 rushing yards against Mississippi State.

Wommack feels this is the best he has ever seen Sellers run the ball.

“Their offense right now is highly efficient and explosive,” Wommack said. “LaNorris Sellers is running the ball as good as I have seen him in 3 years, and he is also creating a lot of explosives in the passing game with a very athletic receiving corps. So we’ll have a great challenge for us. As always, it’s about us and looking forward to getting back out on the field in Bryant-Denny on Saturday.”

Alabama did a great job containing Ashton Daniels last week in its win over Florida State outside of a play Wommack takes responsibility for.

“We also minimized and eliminated his ability to scramble and create explosive place outside of the touchdown, the last touchdown in the red zone, which was my fault,” Wommack said. “I should put a spy on him in that situation where we were in that coverage because that is completely on me.”

Attempting to contain Sellers could be quite the challenge this weekend for the Tide.
