Alabama star safety said he avoided injury that ‘could have been bad’

Crimson Tide safety Bray Hubbard had an injury scare in the first quarter of Alabama’s 49-18 win over South Carolina last weekend. 

Hubbard left the contest with just over five minutes remaining in the first quarter, as the star was seen limping back to the Tide’s locker room. The senior would later return to begin the second quarter, as Hubbard appears to have had a slight injury scare despite being cleared to return just moments later. 

The star safety took a moment to comment on the situation, as Hubbard claims he is as healthy as could be despite being pulled momentarily on Saturday.

“I feel great,” Hubbard said. “I avoided an injury, so all thanks to the man above for watching out for me. It could have been bad, I’m as healthy as could be.”

Hubbard recorded five total tackles during Week 4’s victory over South Carolina. The star veteran appears to have dodged a major bullet following his injury scare last weekend, but Hubbard’s comments are extremely reassuring entering a critical Week 5 matchup nonetheless.
