The Alabama Crimson Tide defeated the Mississippi State Bulldogs on the road by a final score of 56-23.

Star quarterback Keelon Russell and the rest of the Tide’s offense were excellent throughout all four quarters of Saturday’s contest. Alabama rushed for 179 total yards in the victory over the Bulldogs, and a handful of talented playmakers were able to contribute in the Tide’s backfield today.

Russell was credited with just 16 rushing yards on the day, but the promising sophomore was nothing short of elite through the air. Alabama center Racin Delgatty was asked for his thoughts on Russell’s performance following the game, and Delgatty was quick to hit the infamous Heisman pose following the quarterback’s efforts in Week 5.

“Keelon is Keelon. That boy is insane,” Delgatty said. “He keeps getting better and better every week, so Im excited for him.”

Russell responded to Delgatty’s comments just moments later.

“Just playing my game. Not really worried about the Heisman right now,” Russell said. “Accolades and stuff will come, just playing my game week in and week out. Don’t want to storm myself too much about what I can get, rather just processing myself what Im going to do to be better.”

Russell recorded 285 passing yards and four total touchdowns during the Tide’s authoritative victory over Mississippi State. The talented sophomore sent a major statement to the rest of the college football world with his performance today, and Russell appears to be focused on improving despite Delgatty’s comments.
