The Alabama Crimson Tide were able to improved to an overall record of 5-0 (3-0 SEC) to begin the year following their 56-23 victory over Mississippi State.

Alabama’s offense was firing on all cylinders against the Bulldogs today. The Tide as a whole totaled 179 rushing yards, while sophomore quarterback Keelon Russell continued to shine through the air.

Russell took a moment to comment on his performance following today’s game. The sophomore was able to reveal the major difference between his first and second road start, as Russell claims his main focus is to continue growing as a quarterback.

“My biggest thing is to just keep growing as a quarterback.” Russell said. “I feel like there are a lot of mistakes that I grew up on. Like the three turnovers in Kentucky, as a quarterback, you learn from it. And I feel like I’m doing it. Like I said as the time goes I will continue to progress as a quarterback.”

Russell has played at an elite level following his underwhelming first half against the Wildcats in Week 2. The rising star continues to display clear growth in his game on a week to week basis, and Russell is now set to face a critical test against Georgia at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Week 6.
