Could the officials in the Alabama vs. Georgia game be punished?

The officials for the Alabama vs. Georgia game are under intense fire after some questionable no calls, including a possible missed pass interference late in the game.

A lot of the Alabama football faithful are up in arms after the Tide were defeated by the Bulldogs.

“Yes we got f***ed by the SEC Officiating,” Alabama Heisman Trophy Winner Mark Ingram said on X.

“Hate to complain about officiating, but it is hard to put into words how bad tonight has been. Unbelievable. Proud of this team no matter what,” Alabama National Champion Jake Coker said.

However, the Alabama faithful are not the only ones confused or irritated by the officiating in the matchup.

“Certified bama hater here. Thats just pass interference,” Barstool’s Brandon Walker posted to X.

“As someone who picked Georgia and likes to be right, that was one of the wildest no calls I’ve ever seen.” ON3’s J.D. PicKell said in a post to X.

The SEC has not released a statement yet, despite the heavy criticism.

With this in mind, when was the last time the SEC took action against an official?

One of the more recent times was when Ken Williamson was suspended from officiating conference games after the Georgia vs. Auburn game last year.

The Auburn vs. Georgia game was put under a microscope last year after officials said Jackson Arnold fumbled when it appeared he scored by crossing the goal line with the football.

It will be interesting to see if and how the SEC responds to the fallout from Saturday’s game.
