Ryan Grubb says he did not have Alabama prepared on offense vs. Tennessee

Alabama football’s offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb took blame for the way the Tide’s offense operated against Tennessee.

The Crimson Tide’s offense scored 10 points against the Vols and only gained 201 total yards. Grubb opened his press conference Monday discussing why he is taking blame.

“More questions than answers right now, and I think that it starts with me,” Grubb said. “I thought I had a good game plan. This isn’t a point-the-fingers-at-the-kids, kind of day. We’re pissed off. I thought I had them ready to play, and I didn’t. The bottom line is we got outplayed. They played their butts off. I think they’re a good team. We certainly didn’t show anywhere close to the caliber of team that that I know that we are. It’s a long season. We still got everything in front of us. I think the guys know that. But really just super disappointing. A lot of hours and time put into 10 points, and it’s embarrassing. And if I was a fan or a supporter, I’d be pissed off too. I know our guys are going to come back ready to work. I just wouldn’t count these guys out.”

Alabama will have an opportunity to bounce back Saturday against Texas A&M at home on Saturday.
