After the 31-20 win over Texas A&M, Alabama head football coach Kalen DeBoer gave an update on the status of starting left guard William Sanders.

Sanders left the game with an injury in the second quarter, and DeBoer was asked about that after the game.

“He has a lower extremity injury, will get evaluated,” DeBoer said. “He’s probably the one guy that could be out for a little bit, so we’ll kind of see and know more tomorrow for sure. Maybe not a week or two. Might be a couple more than that.”

Michigan transfer Kaden Strayhorn filled in for Sanders after the injury, and Strayhorn finished out the game at left guard.

Starting center Racin Delgatty is already missing time due to injury, and Sanders is the second to go down in the last few weeks. Mal Waldrep Jr. is starting at center currently, and whenever Delgatty returns, Waldrep Jr. could bump over to left guard and play there until Sanders is healthy.

Alabama football has a BYE week up next, and the Crimson Tide will head to Baton Rouge to face LSU the following week.
