The LSU Tigers are working to add Dave Aranda to their staff ahead of the Tigers facing the Alabama Crimson Tide, according to Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports.

Aranda was the Tigers’ defensive coordinator from 2016 to 2019 before becoming the head coach at Baylor. He was recently fired by the Bears.

The defensive coordinator helped lead LSU to a win over Alabama in 2019. However, he was defeated by the Crimson Tide four times before the win. One of those losses came when he was the defensive coordinator at Wisconsin in 2015.

Zenitz reported that the coach is currently in Baton Rouge.

Alabama will travel to Baton Rouge to take on LSU on Saturday. The Tide is a road underdog.
