Eagles QB Jalen Hurts shredded Jets defense in two joint practices

Jalen Hurts attempts to throw a pass at Eagles training camp

At some point, Nick Sirianni and the Philadelphia Eagles have to name Jalen Hurts as the starting quarterback.

During two joint practices versus the New York Jets, Hurts was efficient and displayed accuracy on his passes.

He completed 26 of 37 passes (70.3 percent) and tossed seven touchdowns. The native Texan did not record an interception; however, he added a rushing score to his totals. On Wednesday, Hurts connected on 13 of 17 passes with six total scores (one rushing). Despite not playing in the second preseason game (illness), Hurts will have an opportunity to take the field on Friday against the Jets. Philadelphia’s offensive linemen, running backs, and wide receivers are in on the second-year quarterback.

No one knows when he will be named the starter, but Hurts continues to prove himself.

He had the offense playing better last season in replacing Carson Wentz. It is only a matter of time before Hurts is recognized.
