Nick Saban discussed how Alabama football plans to handle Jermaine Burton allegedly pushing a Tennessee fan after Alabama’s loss to the Vols during his Wednesday press conference.
A video surfaced Tuesday of the Alabama wide receiver allegedly pushing a Tennessee fan after the Crimson Tide were defeated by the Vols. Saban released a statement on the situation saying the Alabama program was working to gather more information Wednesday morning. Saban said the Crimson Tide will handle the situation internally moving forward during his most recent press conference.
“We handle discipline issues internally,” Saban said. “That is the way we handle this. But as I said today when I was asked about the whole, you know the whole, the league has tried to control people you know rushing the field, and it is a difficult circumstance for the league. It is a difficult circumstance for the people who are on the field. But we have to go through those difficult circumstances and still respect other people, and I think that is on us to do that. That is certainly a lesson for all of us to learn, relative to this.”
Burton has pulled in 18 receptions for 266 yards and three touchdowns through seven games for the Crimson Tide.
